Stone County Merchants License

*A Stone County Merchants License is required of all businesses having retail sales in Stone County.  Service oriented businesses, if not selling a product, are not required to purchase a Stone County Merchants License from the Collector's Office.
*Businesses must have a Missouri Sales Tax ID Number before a Stone County Merchants License can be issued.
*A representative from the business must fill out, sign, and submit a Merchants License Application.  (Form is available on this page or directly from the Collector's office.)
*License is good for twelve months.
*Renewal notices are mailed annually, on a month by month basis, to all existing businesses.
*Any new business must meet Stone County Planning & Zoning guidelines.
*License cost is $25 per year.
*It is business owners responsibility to research and/or purchase applicable city licenses, fire district licenses, health department licenses, and state licenses.
